Gaddafi guilty for crimes against humanity
arrest warrant for the dictator and his son
The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo, demanded today the tribunal's judges to issue an international arrest warrant for crimes against the human kind to the address of Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif al Islam and the chief of the Libyan secret service Abdullah al Senoussi.
According to Mr. Ocampo Gaddafi has "personally ordered" attacks against unarmed Libyan civilians, in their homes and in public offices, and he shot using heavy artillery [...]. All these are strikes of violence that - he said - "are planned coherently in the course of meetings" and perpetrated also against alleged defendants - whose lists are compiled upon Gaddafi's order - and who are then "arrested, imprisoned and tortured and end up disappearing completely". According to the prosecutor Gaddafi did so "to keep his absolute power", which he exerts by "systematically" deploying terror.
