Exemplary figures
indicated by the Committee for the Gardens of the Righteous Worldwide
The Yad Vashem "Commission for the Designation of the Righteous " for the Holocaust and the International Committee "Remembering for the Future" for the Armenian genocide are the only official bodies authorized to award the title of “Righteous among the Nations” and “Righteous for the Armenians”. As far as the world’s other genocides and crimes against humanity are concerned, there is no official recognition for those who opposed the massacres or distinguished themselves for their "civil courage".
The aim of the Committee for the Gardens of the Righteous Worldwide is to highlight these exemplary figures and continue to search for others, as yet unknown or little known, who have tried and are still trying to safeguard human rights wherever they are trampled on.
