On 6 June 2012 a new Garden was inaugurated in Gyumri, in the northwestern part of Armenia. The Garden is named after the Righteous from every corner of the world.
The first tree was dedicated to journalist Hrant Dink, founder of Agos magazine, who struggled for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey and was murdered in 2007. One of the participants in the ceremony was his wife Rakel Dink.
This is the second Garden of the Righteous to be created in Armenia. The first one is in Yerevan, besides the Armenian Genocide Museum and Memorial: here people remember the Righteous for the Armenians only.
